Carlo was born and raised in Sicily, Italy. He discovered his love for dogs in his homeland while he used to rescue and provide shelter for farm animals and street dogs alongside his older cousin, Leonardo. He traveled to the US 11 years ago with the ambition of working with dogs. He graduated from Nassau Community College with a liberal arts degree in 2019 and from SUNY at Old Westbury with a bachelor of arts in psychology in 2021. Then, he opted to pursue his passion for dogs and obtained his certification as a dog trainer in 2022 through Animal Behavior College (ABC). After graduating from ABC, he worked for a short period of time as a certified dog trainer for the same company he did his mentoring during his studies. Then, he worked for the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter from July 2023 to April 2026 as a certified dog trainer. This year he took a leap of faith and decided to create PET to help dog owners that are facing behavioral issues with their dog and give them another chance to rebuild the bond and leadership that every owner should have with their dog. Carlo offers programs that aim at giving his clients knowledge to learn how to properly communicate with their dog, to help his clients establish a leadership role in their dog's life, and to obtain a better & healthy routine with their dog. He has experience with every aspect of dog training, including basic to advanced training, post-adoption behaviors for shelter & rescue dogs, and other behavioral issues, such as leash pulling, jumping, resource guarding & more.
